Program in Mind Body Research

Our mission is to promote excellence and innovation in Mind-Body medicine at UCLA through fostering new research on the neurobiology of health and healing. The program brings together a multidisciplinary network of scientists and clinicians with expertise in Mind Body and Integrative Medicine therapies, Health Services research and neuroscience.

What’s New

  • In collaboration with the Oppenheimer Family Foundation, the Center’s Mind Body Research Program continues to fund innovative pilot studies in Mind Body, Complementary and Integrative Medicine at UCLA. For more information regarding participating click here.
  • Yoga and other forms of Therapeutic Movement may offer long term symptom relief in IBS and other pain problems. The Mind Body Research program is examining this important possibility with a new study.For more information regarding participating click here
  • How does the brain change with the practice of Mindful Awareness Meditation and is this a route to better health? New results from the Center’s Mind Body program show changes in the resting brain of those who learn meditation. Click here for PubMed link to abstract and article.
